The Rise of Non-Invasive Procedures

By Brentz Walker

Patients who choose non-invasive procedures has gone up in recent times, statistics have shown. Surgeries like breast augmentations and tummy tucks remain popular, but procedures that do not involve going under the knife are rapidly gaining in popularity. Injections or laser treatments are how most of the non-invasive type of procedures are administered. There are many causes of the acceleration.

You have two choices with cosmetic surgery. Staying inside for the healing process is an option. Or, your second option is that someone you know will see you in the healing process with a bruise, a bandage or some other sign. Secrecy is not really a practical option here.

The good thing is that it's actually not easy for someone to notice a non-invasive procedure, when handled by an expert. People will often not know what it is, but will be able to tell that you look better in some way. When discretion is a concern, a non-invasive option like this is a good choice.

Healing alone at home is not an option many of us have, due to time constraints. A great benefit from non-invasive options is that a patient will usually be able to return to work on Monday after having the procedure done the Friday before. In fact, the convenience factor is huge when comparing non-invasive procedures to standard cosmetic surgeries. The fact that it doesn't take much time makes it so that a patient can slip in for a fast Botox treatment at lunch time. Using your vacation time to heal from a more serious surgery is not the best option for many, and they would rather heal up in a day or 2 at home on their days off after a laser treatment.

Risks are involved with any type of procedure. The biggest potential issue is with the use of general anesthesia. In some cases, an adverse reaction can occur that can possibly be serious. Extra waivers are signed just for its use. One can eliminate the risk associated with general anesthesia by having a simple procedure done that is non-invasive in nature.

The recent slowdown in the economy has had a negative impact on major cosmetic surgeries and at the same time, non-invasive procedures have been steadily increasing. Simply put, non-invasive procedures cost less. Health insurance does not generally cover cosmetic procedures; they are considered elective. As these are rather costly, a lot of people take time and save their money, but in these tougher times, many are deciding to keep it for more important things.

On the other hand, having a non-invasive procedure will cost much less. The results of 10 minutes of Botox can make a patient just as happy as a face lift, but for much less money. It makes sense to have a non-invasive procedure when money is tight, as it's effective and works well.

Non-invasive procedures can be every bit as noticeable as the expensive surgical options. Having a procedure such as these is the result of a desire to look more youthful and to be more attractive. Non-invasive procedures can do a great job at adding hair, or making the line between your eyebrows much less prominent, for example. General anesthesia is not required, they can be fast, even only ten minutes, and non-invasive procedures have a minimal risk involved. Often, the patient can go right back to the job. For those who weigh the pros and cons, many decide that the better price, the faster healing, and the desired results can be achieved by non-invasive means. This has led, of course, to the rise in popularity of many non-invasive, cosmetic procedures.
