The amount of overweight people in our society is rapidly increasing. Even though most overweight people are aware they need to lose weight, starting and sticking to a strict diet and exercise routine is difficult to sustain.

So is it possible for those who struggle with sticking to a weight loss plan to lose weight without exercise?

While exercise is always best for weight loss and healthier living, there are some ways to lose weight without exercise, which include the following.

Kick The Soda Habit

Drinking soda adds empty calories to your diet that can add to your waistline. Drinking one 12 ounce can of cola daily can cause you to gain 15 pounds in a year.

Removing soda from your life can have a huge impact on your weight loss.

Eat Healthier Snacks

When you are feeling hungry and need to grab a snack, reach for fruit, vegetables or nuts instead of chips or cakes.

Fruit is a healthy alternative to junk food that can satisfy your craving for sweets just as effectively.

Portion Control

Cutting back on the amount of food you are eating and monitoring the number of calories you are consuming is essential for weight loss.

The best way to do this is to eat the recommended serving size but if that's not possible start by eating half of the amount you usually eat.

This will drastically reduce the number of calories you are eating. Do this on a regular basis and you should gradually start losing weight.

Drink Water

Water plays a vital role in our bodies. It is responsible for keeping our internal organs functioning properly.

Drinking water before and after each meal will also help you stay full for a longer period of time. Since water has zero calories it is the perfect replacement for sugary drinks.

Drinking at least 8 glasses of water per day is recommended.

Walk Up And Down The Stairs

Many times we jump on the elevator without giving it a second thought. Next time, why not take the stairs. Utilizing the stairs may not seem to be much help with losing but in actuality it helps your body burn more calories.

If done consistently it may help you lose a pound or two.

Incorporating simple changes like this into your lifestyle can help you lose weight and get fit.

Even though you dont have to exercise to lose weight it is highly recommended that you do.
