A New Way Of Losing Pounds Fast With Pure Green Coffee Bean Extract

By John Raven

We are used to drinking coffee made from roasted beans, however, the drink originally consisted of an infusion made from the raw, green beans and is still consumed in this form in a few areas. Recently, there has been a great deal of interest in the health benefits of pure green coffee bean extract, which is made from the raw material without roasting. One clinical study concluded that it promotes weight loss without the need for a change in eating or exercise habits. It is also thought to possess antioxidant properties.

The high levels of caffeine found in the normal drink account for its use as an aid to achieving weight loss. It acts as a stimulant that helps burn up calories through greater physical and mental activity, but many people are concerned about its side effects. The beneficial effects of the green beans are not due to caffeine, which is present in much smaller quantities, but to another natural compound.

Raw coffee beans contain high levels of chlorogenic acid, a compound that is destroyed by the roasting process. This explains why the benefits of raw green beans cannot be obtained from the traditional drink. The compound is so-named because of the color it produces when it reacts with some other chemicals and has no connection with chlorine; "chloro" is from the ancient Greek word for "green".

The strong antioxidant properties of chlorogenic acid are well documented. Antioxidants help to suppress oxidation reactions, which, when they take place in the body, can produce harmful free radicals. These are implicated in the aging process and their interactions with DNA can cause cells to become cancerous. Thus chlorogenic acid may help to counteract the effects of aging and prevent the development of cancer.

It is, however, the use of the extract as a slimming aid that has attracted most attention. In one study, carried out over a period of 22 weeks, a group of volunteers lost an average of 17 pounds. Another group, given a placebo, showed no overall weight loss. In both cases, the participants in the study were instructed to follow their normal diet and exercise patterns.

Experimental evidence suggests that the active ingredient, chlorogenic acid, reduces the rate of release of glucose by produced by the digestion of food. Glucose provides the body with energy, however, if the body is flooded with large amounts of it, some of it is not used and is instead converted to fat, which is simply the body's way of storing energy. A reduction in the rate of glucose production gives the body more time to use it up and reduces the amount of fat produced.

This may not be the only benefit associated with chlorogenic acid. It seems to help maintain healthy levels of blood sugar. It also appears to increase the metabolic rate of the liver, allowing it to break down fats more quickly.

Pure green coffee bean extract can be purchased from many sources in the form of capsules. Instead of roasting, the manufacturing process involves soaking the raw material. The procedure is designed to ensure that maximum levels of the active ingredient are retained.

  1. What's Makes Green Coffee Work?

The weight loss mechanisms of Green Coffee Bean Extract have been attributed to its effects on Glycemic Control, as opposed to a speeded-up metabolism caused by caffeine. Researchers have focused on all of the active components: Chlorogenic Acid, Quinides, Lignans, and Trigonelline, all of which have been proven to enhance glucose metabolism.

So far, all of this sounds a bit technical, and you really just want to know if this stuff is any good. The answer is "Yes", this is the real thing, and I will tell you why. Many clinical studies have shown that Chlorogenic Acid slows fat absorption from food consumption, and also enhances fat metabolism. Don't look to brewed coffee as a source of Chlorogenic Acid, it is roasted right out of the bean.
